Biden’s Failure In Afghanistan Is His Alone

Joe Biden walks away BEFORE press conference over – mumbles incoherently | World | News |

After the cataclysmic debacle of the fall of Afghanistan to the Taliban, Joe Biden took a break from his vacation to address the American people. In his speech, he blamed Trump and the Afghanis, but the blame is his. Then he refused to take questions from the media and went back on his vacation. America does not have a leader.

“When I came into office,” Biden said, “I inherited a deal that President Trump negotiated with the Taliban. Under his agreement, US forces would be out of Afghanistan by May 1, 2021, just a little over three months after I took office… The choice I had to make as your president was either to follow through on that agreement or be prepared to go back to fighting the Taliban in the middle of the spring fighting season.”

Putting aside the false dichotomy for a moment, Joe Biden has built his presidency on reversing every Trump policy, to predictably disastrous results. He canceled the Keystone XL pipeline, which put people out of work and reduced American energy independence. He stopped building the wall on the southern border, which created an unprecedented migrant crisis. He made overtures to Iran, who funded terrorism and created more Middle East conflict. So claiming that he did what he did because he was following Trump’s plan is a ridiculous excuse. If Biden governed like Trump, his presidency would have a modicum of success.

Biden didn’t even follow the Trump plan for withdrawal. Trump’s plan called for the evacuation of civilians before the military. Biden left 10,000 Americans stranded in Afghanistan. Trump’s plan included continued air and technical support for the Afghani army. Biden left them without warning, and the Afghani army was dependent on US air support and intelligence.

The most galling part, however, is that Trump’s plan was a plan. Plans should be implemented or changed based on the realities on the ground. The intelligence agencies said that this would happen, albeit on a slightly longer timetable. Instead of 30 to 90 days, Kabul fell in 30 to 90 hours. But a withdrawal should never have occurred in the manner in which it did. A foreign terrorist organization, which has been known to house other terrorist entities, now controls billions of dollars in American weaponry. That’s Joe Biden’s fault.

Then there is the false dichotomy that Biden claimed that it was either do this or Americans would die in droves. This is the same logic Obama gave when signing the Iran Deal, either this or war. This is a lie. The casualty rate in Afghanistan has been incredibly low for the past seven years, never exceeding two dozen annually, and many years in single digits. This was not a costly area of the world anymore, and it hasn’t been for nigh on a decade.

And there are legitimate reasons to stay in Afghanistan. Aside from the human rights violations that are occurring constantly under Taliban rule, where women can be killed for going to school and Afghanis who worked with America are tortured and hanged, an American presence is important for our national security, as well. In two decades, we forgot that it was the Taliban in Afghanistan who gave aid and security to al-Qaeda and Osama Bin Laden when he planned 9/11. A deterring presence in the region is incredibly important to prevent such attacks in the future.

Then there’s the fact that our geopolitical enemies, like China, Russia, and Iran, can fill the void that we left. They want to control the region, and its resources, and an unstable government is the perfect opportunity for them to do so. China is already making overtures to the Taliban, and they certainly don’t care about the human rights abuses.

Joe Biden did not have to do what he did in the manner in which he did it. That it is all immediately blowing up in his face is his responsibility. Trying to blame his predecessor and his former allies for his failures is the height of cowardice, and he is not competent enough to be our Commander in Chief.

An Open Letter To Our Schools

 Originally published August 18, 2021

To the administrators and school boards of the Jewish schools of New York:

There is a large number of parents of students in your schools – some silent, others not – who do not want you to mandate our children to be vaccinated or masked to attend your institution.  Our detractors will claim that this position is anti-science or we do not have in mind the best interests of our child or their classmates.  This is the opposite of the truth.  As we all know, it is the responsibility of parents to put our children’s health and safety first.

The main fear is that the children will spread the virus to the teachers or other adults, but children should not be forced to get vaccinated or mask up to protect adults.  Adults must protect children, and for children to be forced to protect adults is logically and morally backwards.

If the issue were children getting other children sick, then this would be a far different letter – but that is not the issue.  Children have never been the primary issue with this pandemic.  Global data proves this.  Science and medicine proves this.  To date, according to CDC data, 354 children under the age of 18 have died of COVID-19.  In terms of comparison, there are 74.2 million children under 18 in the United States, and total deaths from a variety of reasons during that time numbered 52,672.  We are talking about 0.67%.

Every parent’s worst nightmare is that their child will be “the one.”  No matter how infinitesimal the odds, there is still that nagging feeling.  But that feeling is not one based on the normal risk assessment that parents do every day; it is artificially planted in us by multiple sources, including the media and politicians.  If it were natural, no parent who is demanding mandates would allow their child to swim or ride a bus.

The New York Times published an article entitled “We Studied One Million Students. This Is What We Learned About Masking.”  It went into detail about the efficacy of masking when the researchers studied North Carolina schools.  However, by their own admittance, “Because North Carolina had a mask mandate for all K-12 schools, we could not compare masked schools to unmasked schools.”  Even middle school science classes would inform any student that an experiment without a control group does not mean much.

Large institutions are joining the mania.  The American Academy of Pediatrics claims that “there is no evidence that use of face masks prevents or delays speech and language development,” despite the fact that no real experiments have been done to prove or disprove that hypothesis.  However, they are blowing along with the political winds, as they have done many times over the past few years.

In July, Dr. Anthony Fauci said there is “no doubt” that children 3 and older should wear masks.  Dr. Rochelle Walensky of the CDC said the same thing, claiming that “this was not a decision that was taken lightly.”

But other scientists, like Dr. Marty Makary, writing for the Wall Street Journal, have far different opinions.  “The Case Against Masks for Children” is a column that should be syndicated in every newspaper in the country, because it not only talks about the lack of efficacy of masking children, but the adverse effects of masking children.  “Do masks reduce Covid transmission in children? Believe it or not, we could find only a single retrospective study on the question, and its results were inconclusive. Yet two weeks ago, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention sternly decreed that 56 million U.S. children and adolescents, vaccinated or not, should cover their faces regardless of the prevalence of infection in their community.”

Makary is not an anti-masker; he in fact called for universal masking last year.  However, after analyzing the risk-to-benefit ratio, he recommends against mandating that children mask.

Regarding vaccinations, given the low rate of serious illness or death among children, it should not be school policy to force students to take a vaccine that does not have full FDA approval (it is still on emergency approval, so the longitudinal studies are forthcoming but not available yet).

This isn’t to say that parents who want their children to vaccinate or mask shouldn’t be allowed to.  This is a plea to leave the decision up to the parents.  This is not a situation where the unvaccinated and unmasked will create a dangerous environment.  The data just does not support that.  This is a parental decision that should not be taken out of our hands.

We know you feel the responsibility of all the children in your charge, and you do not take that responsibility lightly.  But parents must protect their children, and parental rights must be respected as well.

They Will Never Give Back Your Freedom

 Originally published August 12, 2021

The greatest lie that conservatives tell themselves is that “the desire for freedom resides in every human heart.” The events of this past year should have taught us that there are those in the bureaucracy who enjoy the power and attention they have garnered and will refuse to relinquish it.

The Delta variant is the latest, greatest example of this power grab. New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio has mandated vaccine passports for many indoor activities. He did this on the basis that not enough people are vaccinated, and the Delta variant could cause a third wave in the city.

Dr. Anthony Fauci began recommending wearing masks indoors again. The CDC echoed him and changed their guidance to do so. National Institutes of Health Director Dr. Francis Collins said that parents should mask at home in front of their unvaccinated children (he later walked that back). CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky is refusing to share the data that caused her organization to perform an about-face on masking.

Meanwhile, in the land of science and data, the numbers that we are seeing do not warrant these moves. While the number of cases is spiking, the numbers of hospitalizations and deaths are not. New York State – not the city, but the whole state – averages around ten deaths per day from COVID. The seven-day average in the country is around 400, which makes it around a tenth of what it was at its worst. For context, it’s lower now than it was when the masking guidelines were lifted, and data from the United Kingdom suggests that Delta is going to wane soon.

The issue isn’t that these wannabe dictators are passing these new restrictions; that’s what they do. The issue is that so many are following them, even cheering them. Corporations are mandating vaccinations and masking for their employees. CNN fired three unvaccinated staffers. Media personalities are berating politicians into pushing for more and more restrictions on freedom.

The elites have decided that the unwashed masses must be controlled, but they do not care when their fellow elitists flaunt the rules themselves. Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot attended the music festival Lollapalooza and then instituted a mask mandate the following day. Washington, DC, Mayor Muriel Bowser instituted a mask mandate, then violated it that same day to officiate a wedding. Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was seen donning a mask for pictures, then immediately removing it. Another Biden official was seen walking maskless to the side of a stage, putting on a mask, walking to a podium, and taking off the mask. It’s all theater.

The greatest example of this hypocrisy is former President Barack Obama, who planned a 600-person birthday party for himself on his palatial Martha’s Vineyard estate. After receiving criticism, he said he would scale back. However, videos and pictures emerged of the party this weekend, which appeared anything but “scaled back,” and included many celebrities and politicians who parrot the authoritarian talking points. Most attendees were not masked, and according to Candace Owens, there was no mandate to be vaccinated to attend the party. So, while tens of thousands of people are restricted from living their everyday lives, liberal elites are having the times of their lives.

All of this goes to show that there is no end to these restrictions, and freedom will not be given back. It’s time for the people to just ignore the guidelines and mandates. Get vaccinated, or don’t – it’s your decision. Just don’t wait for someone to tell you that you can now be free. They never will.

The Great Vaccine Misdirect

 Originally published July 28, 2021

Get the vaccine. By sheer statistics alone, it’s safer to be vaccinated than unvaccinated.

With that out of the way – make your own choices.  If you choose to get a vaccine, that’s all you can do and don’t worry anymore.  If you choose not to, you’ll live with the consequences of that decision.

This is not something you would hear from any Democrat in government or in the media.  They will continue to use the pandemic and the vaccinations as tools to gain more and more power.  They have been very successful at it so far.

This is why they are trying to convince the American people to pay close attention to the “evil” Republicans who are providing less-than-approved statements about the vaccine.  These comments are mocked, derided, and censored – yet rarely refuted.  But this is the ammunition that the media uses when trying to get every single right-of-center source of information barred from social media.

It goes all the way to the top.  Joe Biden claimed that Facebook was killing people.  Jen Psaki said that they were coordinating with Facebook to let them know sources of “misinformation” (a term that can mean any information that Democrats do not like). Psaki also said that if you are banned from one social media site, you should be banned from all sites, regardless if you have violated that site’s policy or not.  This is the government using their power to bully private companies into suppressing free speech, and it should frighten everyone.

The most ridiculous part of this is the base of the claim – that it’s Trumpist watchers of Tucker Carlson and Newsmax who are the ones going without vaccinations.  The evidence of this is scanty at best.  The media simply looked at the percentages of the population of each state that was vaccinated, matched it up with an electoral map, and realized that the red states have lower percentages than the blue states.  Talking point found!

There are multiple problems with this narrative.  First, there are multiple reasons why adults choose not to get vaccinated.  Labeling all unvaccinated Alabamians as rubes while ignoring unvaccinated Californians is a means of securing blue states for the upcoming electoral cycle.  Second, broken down in different ways, it’s difficult to even make the case that it’s Republicans in general who are choosing to not get vaccinated.

According to a Kaiser Family Foundation (KFF) study, there are large disparities in race when getting vaccinated.  As of July 19, 65% of Asians, 48% of whites, 41% of Hispanics, and 36% of blacks received at least one dose of the vaccine.  If the game that the Democrats and media want to play is “demonize the groups of people who voted differently than me,” then that’s the game that will be played.

According to Democrat polling company Catalist, 67% of Asians, 44% of whites, 63% of Hispanics, and 90% of blacks voted for Joe Biden.  Of those groups, the black and Hispanic populations, which voted overwhelmingly for Biden, are the least likely to be vaccinated.

Does this matter?  Not at all.  Getting vaccinated is a personal choice, and the media and Democrats are using it as a means of control and demonization of their political opponents.  So every time Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, Jen Psaki, Anthony Fauci, or any other member of government or media try to convince you to turn on your neighbor, remember that they are lying to you and do not care about you.  They like their power, and they will do anything to keep it.

Boycott Ben & Jerry’s

 Originally published July 21, 2021

On Monday, Vermont-based ice cream manufacturer Ben & Jerry’s decided to take their leftist ideology to the next level by pulling their products from “Occupied Palestinian Territories.”  This move comes directly from the left-wing playbook on the Palestinian people, which is not about helping them, but rather attempting to hurt the Jews.

“We believe it is inconsistent with our values for Ben & Jerry’s ice cream to be sold in the Occupied Palestinian Territory (OPT),” the company said in a statement.  “We also hear and recognize the concerns shared with us by our fans and trusted partners.” They claim that they plan to stay in Israel, which immediately prompted many Leftists on Twitter to confirm that the BDS movement and their allies consider all of Israel to be “Occupied Palestinian Territory.”

This is not Ben & Jerry’s first foray into politics.  The founders were lifelong socialists who made many public comments about their politics.  This translated directly onto their brand in 2018 when they debuted “Pecan Resist” with notorious antisemite Linda Sarsour.  The Progressive movement was not satisfied, though, and they demanded that the company weigh in on many other matters.

The Ben & Jerry’s twitter account is usually active with a combination of ice-cream-related material and social justice messaging.  They tweet about the prison industrial complex, greenhouse gas emission, and peanut butter toppings.  As the Boston Globe pointed out last week, their account has been quiet for over two months.  This is because in May, they tweeted, “Any mint lovers out there?”, which was a grave sin because Israel and Gaza were exchanging rocket fire.

What does the conflict in Israel have to do with mint-flavored ice cream?  For a normal company, nothing. But Ben & Jerry’s have long since decided that their company is not about sales or profits; it’s about social justice activism.  So much so that left-wing activism has become expected of them.  This why their mint tweet was filled with comments such as, “why do you sell ice cream in israel” and “Hey @benandjerrys, I love your vegan flavors what I don’t love is your continued involvement with Israel in the west bank. cut ties and use your platform to help #FreePalaestine.”  So they stopped tweeting for 61 days, and the first message they posted at the end of that time was that they would stop selling ice cream in Judea and Samaria.

Of course, this wasn’t enough to placate the SJW crowd.  They demanded that Ben & Jerry’s ceases to sell ice cream in what they consider Occupied Palestinian Territory, which is all of Israel.  Ben & Jerry’s did not provide a map to display what “OPT” was, and they claimed that “we will stay in Israel through a different arrangement. We will share an update on this as soon as we’re ready.”

Like all boycotts of Judea and Samaria, this will have no effect on the Israeli population.  Ben & Jerry’s has only hurt the Palestinians with this boycott, as no Palestinian market can now carry their ice cream, while many Jewish supermarkets can, just on the other side of the border.

Jewish-owned supermarkets like Cedar Market, Glatt Express, Aron’s Kissena Farms, Seasons, Gourmet Glatt, and Pomegranate have all confirmed that they will no longer carry the brand.  Morton Williams, which has 15 stores in New York and 1 in Jew Jersey, claims they will reduce stock on Ben & Jerry’s by 70%. Even Mayor Bill de Blasio, who is no right-winger, criticized the decision. “I can say I will not be eating anymore Cherry Garcia for a while,” de Blasio said. “BDS is a movement that will undermine peace in the Middle East. It’s as simple as that. You cannot have peace if you undermine the economic reality & create division. I just believe that’s absolutely the wrong approach and I don’t think Ben & Jerry’s should be doing that.”  When you’re too left-wing for Bill de Blasio, you need to deeply reflect on yourself.

The question is: What should pro-Israel Americans do to respond to this antisemitic action?  The pro-American and Zionist organization Amariah (formerly known as Chovevei Zion, where I am a Fellow), has called for the KOF-K to pull their certification.  The Rabbinical Alliance of America condemned the decision. The Coalition for Jewish Values has begun a petition on that has garnered almost 2,000 signatures in the first day. The Vaad Harabonim of Queens (VHQ) issued a statement claiming they are “appalled” by the decision and they “urge the community to not purchase any Ben & Jerry’s product.”

The fact is that the pro-Israel community has market power, and that market power can and should be used to let corporations know the consequences of their actions.  The social justice warriors will not stop with Ben & Jerry’s; they will simply move onto the next company, whatever it may be.  They seek to destroy the Jewish State, plain and simple.  Companies frequently kowtow to them because they think that it’s in their best business interest to do so.  It’s up to everyone else to prove that it’s not.

As Cubans Yearn For Freedom, Democrats Celebrate Tyranny

 Originally published July 14, 2021

Jimmy Failla: Cuba protests and the American flag – why are Dems so clueless about what it represents? | Fox News

This past weekend, tens of thousands of Cubans took to the streets to demand an end of the dictatorship that has ruled their lives for three generations.  Waving American flags and chanting “Freedom,” these Cuban dissidents are risking their lives to have a hope of liberty. Meanwhile, the Left in the United States is increasing its march towards tyranny.

After failing to meet its July 4th vaccination goal, the Biden administration has grown increasingly frustrated with the American people.  Since the beginning of the pandemic, the federal and state governments have infantilized their constituents, and they view vaccine hesitancy like a parent would a rebellious teenager.  Former Obama Health Secretary Kathleen Sebelius wants schools and businesses to require vaccination. “I’m trying to restrain myself, but I’ve kind of had it,” she said. “You know, we’re going to tiptoe around mandates; it’s like, come on. I’m kind of over that. I want to make sure that people I deal with don’t have it so I don’t transmit it to my granddaughter.”

Dr. Anthony Fauci said it was “horrifying” when he heard people didn’t want to get vaccinated.  “There’s no reason not to get vaccinated,” he told Jake Tapper.  He is including all Americans above the age of 12 in this comment, despite the fact that the vaccine does not have the same effect on everyone.  Age and comorbidities account for a significant number of the deaths from COVID, and if a teenager doesn’t want the deleterious effects of a vaccination, they shouldn’t be forced to get one.

That is not stopping Joe Biden, who said that “We need to go to community-by-community, neighborhood-by-neighborhood and, often times, door-to-door, literally knocking on doors to get help to the remaining people protected from the virus.” White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki elaborated by saying that “we are going to continue to press to get 12- to 18-year-olds vaccinated, to continue to work with communities where there’s lower vaccination rates. That’s one of the reasons we initiated these strike forces to go into communities and work with them to determine what they need.”

If that wasn’t enough, the Democrats are pressuring social media and phone carriers to crack down on “misinformation” regarding vaccinations.  They literally want to have private companies determine what information you can and cannot have, and that extends into text messages. These are the same entities that banned all posts blaming the origins of the virus on the lab leak in Wuhan, suppressed medical reports that hydroxychloroquine could reduce symptoms, and removed content that did not conform with the narrative.  They have no credibility to determine what is “misinformation.”

Meanwhile, Democrats in Texas are subverting the democratic process by bailing out of their responsibilities as members of the State House of Representatives. Instead of voting on a voter security bill, Democrats hopped on a private plane to Washington, DC to ensure that the House didn’t have a quorum to hold a vote.  Vice President Harris, who claims that the Senate Minority Republicans are a threat to democracy when using the filibuster, praised the Texas Democrats.  “I applaud them standing for the rights of all Americans and all Texans to express their voice through their vote,” she said. So when Senate Republicans reject a bill to radically shift the way elections are done in the country, Kamala Harris is appalled by their actions, but Texas Democrats literally running away so they can subvert the process are worthy of applause.

Meanwhile, in Charlottesville, Virginia, history is being removed one statue at a time.  Robert E Lee and Thomas J “Stonewall” Jackson were the first to go, but now they city removed a statue of explorers Lewis and Clark and their guide, Sacajawea, as well.  A country that seeks to forget its history is actually seeking to rewrite that history as they see fit.

And what history do the Democrats want?  The one espoused by Critical Race Theorists, which is actually activism disguised as history.  The National Education Association (NEA), the nation’s largest teachers union, announced its plan to teach Critical Race Theory in 14,000 school districts in all 50 states.  If state laws ban it, the NEA will fight it in court – just so they can teach children Howard Zinn propaganda on how evil America is without any context.

This is the tyranny that is encroaching on Americans just this past week.  The Left has spent decades taking over nearly every institution in American life, and they have positioned themselves to strike.  Cubans have been on the losing end of dictatorship for 60 years, and they finally have been able to take to the streets to try and end it.  Will Americans take that long to take their country back?  Or will they say no to the Democrats taking over their legislative process, their education, and their health?

Leftist Democrats Cannot Express Love of America

The Squad' are right to be angry but they're playing into Trump's hands | London Evening Standard | Evening Standard

This past week, America celebrated the 245th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.  This used to be a day of celebration and appreciation of the United States of America and all the accomplishments made over the last two centuries.  Instead, it became a bash-fest for the usual suspects: leftists who don’t seek to reform the nation, but seek to destroy it.

Missouri Representative Cori Bush led the parade when she tweeted, “When they say that the 4th of July is about American freedom, remember this: the freedom they’re referring to is for white people. This land is stolen land and Black people still aren’t free.” This makes sense if you’ve never read the Declaration of Independence or know nothing about American and world history.

Bush followed up to the criticism of saying that black people are not free by tweeting, “We know what our own freedom looks like.  End the slavery permitted under the 13th amendment. End the War on Drugs. End police violence. End health care, housing, and education apartheid. WE are the experts on our own liberation. And we won’t stop until it’s won.”  It doesn’t take an expert to realize how racist this is.

The “slavery permitted under the 13th amendment” refers to incarcerated individuals.  That, combined with the “War on Drugs” line and the “police violence” line insinuate that black people are the only ones being incarcerated or subject to the laws of the country.  This is a lie pushed by leftists so they can riot in the streets without consequence and teach children what they want.  Which explains the next tweet: “It’s not a coincidence that the people who are saying Black people have full freedom in our country are the same ones trying to prevent teaching the truth about white supremacy in our classrooms.”

For Bush and other leftists, it’s always about the end game: a complete destruction of America’s founding principles, including the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution.  This is why they want to teach children about how America is evil under the guise of “teaching the truth about white supremacy.” Race is only relevant when teaching about how evil white people are.  Does she support teaching about the hundreds of thousands of white men who died to create this nation, free the slaves, and defeat the Nazis? Obviously not.

This trend continues with Jamaal Bowman, Democrat Congressman from New York.  “Let us reflect on the full story of America today.  Black people were not freed in 1776. Despite a system stacked against us, we must continue to use our collective power to change that system.”  Is that the “full story”?  Or is the full story one of a country that fought for freedom, then fought for those ideals?  Is the story one of worldwide slavery of multiple races, and that America led the charge in ending that practice, first in the North, then in the South?  That historic take is too nuanced and complicated for a 280-character tweet, so Bowman ignores it.

Speaking of ignoring the accomplishments of America, Kamala Harris celebrated her first Independence Day as Vice President with a self-congratulatory video saying, “America is back.”  That non-sequitorial line of no meaning is on brand for Harris.  No mention of the accomplishments of a nation.

Joe Biden gave similar platitudes, claiming that “America is coming back” and declaring our independence “from this virus,” completely obfuscating what the meaning of Independence Day is.  Other Democrats, like Ayanna Pressley, opted for a “if you have nothing nice to say, don’t say anything at all” approach to the holiday.

There are no philosophical prerequisites in the books for elected members of the country.  If someone wants to hate America, be a communist, or a Nazi, they can run just like anyone else.  It is up to the citizenry to prevent these people from holding power.  Not only should those making these anti-American statements be held accountable, we must hold their allies in local, state, and federal offices accountable as well.
