3 Radical Orgs That Are Pulling Democrats Left

In the last year, Queens has become Ground Zero for radical leftist politicians.  Until now, it was just Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the socialist representative that the voters of the Bronx and Queens sent to Washington. The lunacy she spouts on a regular basis does not really affect the day to day lives of Queens residents. All of that will change if Tiffany Caban becomes the district attorney. However, Caban’s candidacy and possible win did not occur in a vacuum.  It is the result of hard effort put in by one of many organizations who’s sole purpose is to drag the Democratic Party further to the left.  

Prior to the Primary, a radical leftist group called Five Borough Defenders created a questionnaire for the candidates.  The goals spelled out in this questionnaire defined the primary race. As described on their own website, “5 Boro Defenders (5BD) is a group of New York City public defenders, civil rights attorneys and advocates working to end the systemic injustices and racism of the criminal legal system.”  When grading the candidates, they determined if a candidate would end broken windows prosecution, end cash bail, be harsher on police officers, be soft on illegal immigrants, close Riker’s Island, and “end mass incarceration”. The more leftist you were on these policies, the better the grade.  Caban scored an A-, the highest of the seven candidates.

  

Caban believes that prosecution should not be based on your actions, your criminal history, or the damage you caused.  Prosecution is based on skin color. If more Hispanic people jump turnstiles in the subway, then jumping turnstiles should be decriminalized.  If more black people shoplift, then that should be decriminalized. She has said she would decriminalize marijuana, prostitution, unlicensed massage parlors, trespassing, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, loitering, unlicensed driving, drug possession, welfare fraud, turnstile jumping, and shoplifting for amounts under $250.  All of these acts would not be prosecuted in a Caban DA.  

Many of these crimes were more strictly prosecuted during the era of “broken windows” prosecutions, instituted by New York City under Mayor Rudy Giulianni and police commissioner William Bratton.  Prior to the institution of broken windows policing, the average murders per yeat between 1988 and 1993 was close to 2000 murders. In 1994, the year Giulliani took office, that dropped to 1500. His last year in office, 2001, there were 649.  In 2018, when the police continued those policies in spite of De Blasio’s terrible leadership, there were 289 murders.  

That is not all.  Between 1990 and 2009, rapes dropped 77% in New York City.  Robberies dropped 84%. Did New York just round up and lock away thousands of people?  Quite the contrary, the New York City prison population declined between 1997 and 2008, with 20,000 more people leaving prison than entering it.  (this is per Franklin E. Zimring, Simon Professor of Law at the University of California, Berkeley.) 

While trespassing and disorderly conduct is obviously not the same as murder, prosecuting those small offenses is the entire purpose of broken windows policing.   As demonstrated in the mid-90s, policing methods that target minor crimes such as graffiti, drinking in public, and turnstile jumping, creates an atmosphere of order and lawfulness, thereby preventing more serious crimes.  When you see a broken window, you think nobody cares about that building, so criminals conduct illegal activity there. Proactive policing in targeted areas reduced crime.  Who’s lives are saved with these policies?  Black lives.  So if black lives truly matter, then these policies should be celebrated, not denigrated.

The 5 Boro defenders stated goals would yield to a less safe city. They are not defending the 5 boros, they are taking advantage of the political system in order to get their clients out of jail, as opposed to the judicial one. They are trying to rip the blindfold off of lady justice, and have her see skin color before doling out punishment.

The 5 Boro Defenders are running a similar playbook as another radical left wing PAC, the Justice Democrats. The Justice Democrats were founded by Host of The Young Turks Cenk Uyger (who is so far to the left he makes MSNBC look like Fox News), and staffers from Bernie Sanders 2016 campaign. Their strategy is to find deep blue districts with entrenched democratic establishment politicians, get their candidate to win a primary with a low voter turnout, and then win the general.

This is how we got Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. The Justice Democrats found her, vetted her, and ran her campaign. A co-founder of the Justice Democrats, Saikat Chakrabarti, is her Chief of Staff. The Justice Democrats also endorsed Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib, other new congresswomen who are taking over the Democratic Party.  This is not a right-wing conspiracy theory.  This information is on their website.  They spent 2.5 million dollars in 2018 on getting those 3 and 4 others into Congress.

The Justice Democrats co-wrote the Green New Deal, push for elimination of private healthcare insurance, want federal funding for abortions, and want open borders. Their entire agenda is to take over the Democratic Party to move it to the left on every topic. If you watched the first Democratic debates a few weeks ago, this plan is working. Multiple presidential candidates came out in favor of decriminalizing border crossings and eliminating private healthcare insurance. All of the candidates in the second debate said that illegal immigrants should be given free healthcare. Joe Biden has supported the Hyde Amendment, which prevents federal funding for abortion, for literally decades in public office. He reversed his position because of this leftwing pressure. Bernie Sanders, Cory Booker, Kamala Harris, Elizabeth Warren, and Kristen Gillibrand not only support the Green New Deal, they co-sponsored it in the Senate. (The Green New Deal will cost 93 Trillion dollars and have no actual effect on global temperature increase).  Sanders, Harris and Warren are in a 3 way tie for second place in presidential polling.

The Justice Democrats already have 5 candidates for the 2020 election, 4 running for seats in the House and one in the Senate.

The third organization that is pulling the Democrats left by actively trying to change America’s foreign policy with our greatest ally in the Middle East, Israel. They call themselves IfNotNow, and they are made up of a group of Jews who essentially want to see the destruction of the State of Israel.

Now, before I get into their goals and influence, I’d like to address the moniker given to these kind of people that they are self hating Jews. I think that’s wrong. First, they love themselves. These people are so incredibly full of themselves that they cornered and blamed Chelsea Clinton at a vigil for the mosque attack in New Zealand because she criticized Ilhan Omar’s use of antisemitic tropes. That is sociopathic behavior. Second, they love being Jews. Being a Jew means that you get to be part of a victim group. Without their ethnically Jewish identity, these are just a bunch of white people, and at the bottom of the totem pole for intersectionality. They are not self hating Jews. These are Judaism hating jews.

Judaism has rules. A lot of rules. What you can eat, what you can wear, when to pray, who you can marry. Sabbath has more rules. The half a dozen holidays that many of you probably never heard of has even more rules. Judaism has a moral code. Judaism requires belief in God.  Jews actively discourage non-Jews from converting to Judaism because of how tough it is.

The Judaism hating Jews of IfNotNow do not appreciate the important connection that Judaism has with the land of Israel. It is a connection that is at the very root of our religion. Because Judaism is more than a religion to practicing Jews, it is a Nation, and a nation has a home. They do not appreciate that. Because their religion is not Judaism, it is leftism and social justice. So, like all leftist social justice warriors, they only look at who is the oppressed, and who is the oppressor. If the Israelis drive nicer cars, live in nicer houses, and live better lives than the Palestinians, then the logic must be that the Israelis are keeping the Palestinians down. Its not because the Palestinians have time and again voted for terrorist governments, cheered when terrorists killed Israeli citizens, or spent their billions of dollars in foreign aid for terrorist purposes. It must be the Israelis fault.

IfNotNow began as a movement to counter Birthright. Birthright is an organization that gives free trips to Israel to young Jews who have never been there before, in order to instill a sense of love for their land and heritage. IfNotNow convinces these unaffiliated Jews to leave their tour of Israel and instead take a tour of Palestinian towns, all while blaming the Jews in Israel for what happened to those people. They look at Israel as Occupying that land. There are two problems with this. One, there is no Palestinian state. They had multiple chances over the past 70 years to make a state for themselves. They have not. So what is Israel occupying? Second, Israel has strict borders, and a wall. Why? Because of massive amounts of terrorist in the 90s and 2000s that came over these borders. Now these attacks, thankfully, are few and far between. Walls work.

IfNotNow has a very deliberate strategy to push the democratic party more to the left when it comes to Israel. They approach candidates at public events, and get them on video supporting the “end of the occupation”. Bernie Sander’s held a sign in a picture saying “Jews against the occupation”. This is not surprising, though, as Sanders has called Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu a racist. This week, IfNotNow got the same commitment from Elizabeth Warren.

Its not just the candidates themselves, but also their staff that is a problem. Belen Sisa, Sanders’ national deputy press secretary, echoed the antisemitsm of Ilhan Omar when she wrote on facebook "This is a serious question: do you not think that the American government and American Jewish community has a dual allegiance to the state of Israel?”, The smear of dual loyalty has been used, literally for centuries, in order to ostracize the jewish community. American Jews are Americans. Any and all support for the state of Israel is derived from the same increased interest in any topic that you have a personal connection to.  Would you accuse an Ohio corn farmer of having dual loyalty between America and Ethanol subsidies, or a Michigan auto worker at having dual loyalty between american and tariffs on foreign cars? Caring about any particular issue in American policy doesn’t mean you have loyalty to another country over America.  

Elizabeth Warren has even deeper ties with IfNotNow.  She actually hired one of their co-founders, Max Berger, on her campaign staff.  Max Berger deleted all of his tweets prior to working for her, but a few gems were captured for posterity. “Ilhan Omar Is Right, Israel is not a real democracy” (Israel is about to have 2 elections this year, the palestinian authority had their last election in 2005, which was supposed to be a 4 year term.)  “Confession: I would totally be friend with Hamas”.  Hamas is a terrorist organization that includes killing all Jews in its charter

These organizations are well funded, have a full time staff, and are absolutely dedicated to making the Democratic Party more leftist. This affects republicans nationally, but especially in a blue state such as New York. We need to keep fighting the fight, and, like 2016, we will have great victories. But sometimes we will lose, and Democrats will be in charge. The question is, who do we want those democrats to be. We need to be aware of this so when we engage with the left, we know the forces that are trying to pull our democratic friends and neighbors into a more radical direction. We can’t afford to just write them off, or else a DA like Tiffany Caban may be the least of our worries.
