On Sunday evening, at the end of a long Thanksgiving weekend, lame duck President Joe Biden issued a much-awaited but endlessly-denied pardon for his son Hunter. The shed light on the lie that Biden and his administration, led by Press Secretary Karine Jean Pierre, have been telling for months when they claimed he would not issue the pardon. It also shows exactly who Biden has been throughout his entire political career.
The most obnoxious revisionist history is the rewriting of Joe Biden by the legacy media. Biden has always been a corrupt, power-hungry politician who cared more about enriching his family than being a civil servant. He’s spent decades using his seat in the Senate to give credence to his family name, something that his brother and then his son had no problem trading on. The extent of Biden’s knowledge into how much money his family earned off of his position of power has always been speculation, but since he began running for president more details have come to light.
That’s what makes the timing and the language of the pardon so galling. This was not done on January 19, a typical 11th hour pardon. This was done on December 1, with 50 days to go in his term. Why would Biden choose now to issue the pardon?
Then there’s the language of the pardon. Hunter Biden was convicted on three felony charges related to the purchase of a gun in 2018, specifically for lying to a federal firearms dealer, making a false claim on the application, and illegally possessing the firearm while being an unlawful user of or addicted to a controlled substance. Hunter was also accused of tax-related crimes, including failing to pay at least $1.4 million in federal taxes from 2016 to 2019, evading tax assessment, and filing false tax returns while spending millions on an extravagant lifestyle. Additionally, there were allegations that he violated the Foreign Agents Registration Act by not registering as a foreign lobbyist for income earned from business dealings in China, Ukraine, and Romania. However, that’s not what Biden pardoned him for. He pardoned him for all activities between January 1, 2014 and December 1, 2024.
Hunter Biden joined the board of Burisma, a Ukrainian energy company, in April of 2014. This was when Joe Biden was Vice President to Barack Obama. Everyone hopefully remembers that the first Trump impeachment in 2019 and 2020 surrounded Trump talking to Ukrainian President Vladmir Zelenskyy about Hunter’s involvement with Burisma. There’s a video of Joe Biden bragging about how he threatened Ukrainian leaders into firing the prosecutor looking into Burisma by withholding a billion dollars in aid. There are also numerous documents and witnesses talking about how Hunter gathered money on behalf of his father (“10% for the big guy” was the phrase used). Legal experts claim that this is the most broad language pardon since Nixon’s.
Well, as per an anonymous White House official and reported on X, Hunter came to his father during Thanksgiving and basically threatened him with a tell-all book. According to Jack Posobiec, Senior Editor at Human Events, “Over Thanksgiving, Hunter told his father about a book he was writing that would go public with everything. Days later, his father signed a blanket pardon.” Politico also writes, “We’re told the family discussed the issue over the long Thanksgiving weekend in Nantucket, where the Bidens spent the holiday.” So that explains the timing and the language. Joe Biden was threatened by his own son that he would reveal all of his activities, implicating his father, right in time for President Trump to assume office.
This is without a doubt one of the biggest scandals imaginable, but it shouldn’t be a surprise. The Biden presidency has been filled with so many lies that it’s hard to keep track. Of course, the media fired their fact-checkers after Trump left office in 2021, only to hire them back now that Trump is coming back in, so there’s isn’t a database of all the lies told. To recap, though: Biden claimed that inflation was transitory, Afghanistan was a success, Joe Biden is mentally competent, the video about him were “cheapfakes,” and that he wasn’t going to be replaced at the top of the Presidential ticket.
The past four years have been a disgrace, and will be recapped many times by many outlets in the coming weeks. This pardon puts a crown on top of the garbage pile of a presidency, however, so anyone who has the gall to claim that Biden was anything but a corrupt venal liar who only assumed the presidency because of a complete restructuring of the electoral process due to a global pandemic is lying to you. Just like Joe Biden lied to you.
